بعد رفض الفيس بوك مكافئة الهاكر الفلسطيني خليل شريتح للحجج الواهية التي تذرعو بها، قام شخص يدعى Marc Maiffret، بأنشاء صفحة لخليل شريتح بموقع gofundme.com للتبرع لصالح شريتح وكان الهدف هو الوصول الى عشرة الاف دولار من المتعاطفين مع خليل والمفاجئة بيوم واحد فقط تصل المكافئة الى اكثر من 10,700 دولار امريكي من متبرعين بعدة انحاء العالم.

وفي رسالة Marc Maiffret قال:
“خليل شريتح وجد ثغرة امنية في الفيس بوك، ولكن بسبب سوء توصيل المعلومة لم يحصل خليل على مكافئته، دعوونا نرسل رسالى الى جميع الخبراء الامنيين ونقول لهم نحن نشكركم على كل المجهود لجعل الانترنت مكان افضل وعدم الاستغلال.”
وبعد يوم واحد فقط من وصول شريتح الى المبلغ اضاف مارك قائلاً:
شكراً لكم جميعاً لقد ساعدتم جميعا لدعم شريتح، انا الأن اعمل مع جوو فاند مي،للتواصل معها لتحويل الدعم الى خليل، اتمنى ان هذا الشيء يزيد الوعي عن اهمية الباحثين عن الثغرات، نحن لن ننسى هدفنا الاكبر; مساعدة الانترنت للتواصل بشكل افضل ، وبيوم واحد فقط ساعدنا خليل لتحقيق اكثر من 10 الاف دولار.
